Caroling with Jacek

In accordance with our Club's tradition (and Polish tradition) in January we were caroling with Jacek Kalisz. Jacek is a respected musician, well known in the Sacramento Area and beyond for his excellence in organ and piano music. For many years Jacek conducted the only Polish Choir in the Northern California Cantio Polonica. This time Jacek was joined by another excellent musician Basia Wroblewska from Davis, her children Marcin and Marysia and recreated, after long years, Cantio Polonica. Big THANK YOU for Jacek Kalisz for putting together a program that was a holiday extravaganza, showcasing a fine choir and the excellent talents of the Polish Youth. Highlights of this program included a beautifully sung solo by Basia Wroblewska. Everybody in the audience appreciated the richness and beauty of Polish Christmas music.

October Banquet

October is the Polish-American Heritage Month. This year we had a Banquet Dinner. The dinner was followed by a piano concert given by a very talented student, George Miao, who played music by Frédéric Chopin. The keynote speaker was Polish Consul General Joanna Koziñska-Frybes from Los Angeles.

Polish Festival

The Polish Festival in Roseville last September was a great success, again. Every year seems to bring more patrons than the previous one. Delicious food, extraordinary entertainment and the beautiful weather certainly helped!

Duo Klavitarre Concert

On Palm Sunday the Club hosted a concert by Duo Klavitarre. Jola and Maciej Ziemski are world class musicians and their performance that night was outstanding. Great classical guitar and piano music were played. The repertoire included mazurka, waltz and nocturne pieces written by Chopin but arranged for piano and guitar by Jola.
